Musician Winky D tops bill at Chibuku Take 2 Grand draw scheduled for the City Sports Centre this Saturday starting at 1pm.
Only last weekend, Winky D or simply Gafa to his fans, put up a spectacular performance during EcoCash Chakachaya/Ziyawa grand draw at Harare Gardens.
It appears the ‘Green Like Mi Garden’ singer is slowly tapping into grand draws for various corporates and this time it’s the Chibuku Take 2 gig.
Every dog has his day and one hopes that Winky D will live up to expectation this weekend in the City Sports Centre, the venue for dancehall cup clashes.
There hasn’t been cup clashes lately since Chipaz Promotions hung the boots.
However, could Winky D revive the sweet memories of yester-year when dancehall cup clashes were a must-attend.
Energy was high on and off the stage as festival goers rocked to every track he performed.
Many of his fans enjoy si high energy performance in which he revs the audience into a frenzy.
In between performances Winky D also shares some of his experiences as a ghetto youth playing ditties like 25, Controversy, Rugare featuring Buffalo Souljah and Gafa Party to mention just a few.
Born Wallace Chirimuko, Winky D still has to polish one or two things to perfect his act.
Yes he has arrived but Winky D should seriously take note of the fact that he should stay in key.
There is no need to shout on the microphone especially when the sound is crispy clear.
Secondly and perhaps most importantly, Winky D should now humble himself.
Self-aggrandizement or self-praise should be the last thing let the music do the talking. At times let your fans rate you and sing praise for you.
That said, fans are urged to come in their numbers to enjoy a cool mix of Chibuku, music and prizes galore.
