Factionalism scandal
In June 2017, fellow Zanu Pf members and supporters from Mashonaland Central province expressed their loss of confidence in Kasukuwere. The primary demand was that he and 2 other leaders should be removed for plotting to topple President Robert Mugabe, setting up parallel structures, fanning factionalism, tribalism and nepotism, dictatorial leadership and disrespecting Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Kasukuwerre was also accused of insulting the media and being involved in corrupt activities in relation to mining claims.
A report from the committee that was elected to investigate these accusations, recommended that Kasukuwewre should stop being a signatory to the province’s account and that politburo should revamp structures in the province. Fortunately for him, he survived the investigation and the matter was pronounced inconclusive.
