Victoria Falls Airport
Victoria Falls Airport is an international airport serving the Victoria Falls tourism industry
The Victoria Falls Airport is situated 21 kilometres South of the Victoria Falls Town in the middle of a Forest Area. It provides direct access to the Seventh Natural Wonder of the World and Heritage Site Mosi-oa-Tunya on the River Zambezi, also known as the Magnificent Victoria Falls. The runway is 4000 meters long and 60 meters wide. The Airport occupies an area of approximately 1800 hectors and became into being in 1966 as a regional airport.
Airport Refurbishment:
The airport recently received a $150 million facelift which included the building of a new airport runway, taxiways and a new terminal to increase the airport’s capacity from 500,000 to 1.7million passengers annually.
Airport Services:
The airport operates 12 hours per day, with immigration and customs services available during operating hours. It offers airport facilities and services, including aircraft parking, cargo and passenger handling, refuelling, weather information, restaurants, duty-free shops and banking facilities. The airport has shuttle services to hotels and other places in the Victoria Falls town. There is a variety of tour operators, car rentals which include: (Avis, Europcar, Budget, Kanondo).
