In line with Zim-Asset Upfumi Kumadzimayi, Inotho Kubo Mama has endeavoured to formulate framework that will assist the women in society as well as re-build the country particularly in the following sectors;
· Manufacturing sector by resuscitating distressed and closed companies, generating employment and substituting imports as well as building a sustainable basis for export led growth. We have created clothing and tailoring division within our organization made up entirely of members which we intend to grow into a full-fledged factory that will see the production of protective wear (mining, health sectors) as well as uniforms, tracksuits and a wide range of other clothing products.
· Mining Sector, Upfumi Kumadzimayi, Inotho Kubomama will work closely with the ministry as well as the Mineral Exploration Company, Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation (ZMDC) and the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ). These institutions play a pivotal role in management of the minerals value chain systems in terms of creating a conducive environment for minerals exploitation, value addition and marketing. We will look at the Ministry for support in terms of financial resources to execute our mandate.
· Farming Sector, Upfumi Kumadzimayi, Inotho Kubomama will work closely with ministry for recapitalization of some of member`s projects. Women have always played a key role in providing food and nutrition security to house-holds and we now intend to go on a national drive. The Presidential Input Support Scheme focuses on supporting the vulnerable groups at household and community levels but we strongly believe that if given the opportunity and appropriate backing our women can revive the “bread basket of Africa.” By initiating contract farming arrangements we believe that this can be our stepping stone into the farming sector.
· Tourism, the absence of a revolving fund to support the tourism industry, especially SMEs and Co-operatives has caused many challenges especially for women in tourism. Zimbabwe endowed with a wealth of resources, wildlife and first class touring destinations is the ideal retreat.
We intend to create several initiatives that will benefit our members, women in society and the country at large. By developing revolving funds with your assistance we intend to create micro-finance facilities for members, especially the women vendors on the streets. All members will first go through a business workshop that will cover the following areas;
· Fundamentals of business operations · Personal financial management/ principles of accounts · Skills training
