Background
The Tino Mawoyo Junior Development Festival will be held at Mutare Sports Club from the 7th to the 9th of September 2017, and aims to
identify, expose, develop and foster the abundant cricketing talent in Manicaland. The province has produced many great cricketers over the
years and currently boasts 3 cricketers representing Zimbabwe. There is untapped talent in development areas such as Dangamvura, Sakubva
and Chikanga, where current national team players Donald Tiripano and Tendai Chatara hail from. There are many other talented boys in these
areas who have not been given the platform to showcase their ability, and this is exactly what I aim to do.
Objectives
1. Give the under priveledged children a platform to showcase their skills and be identified.
2. Increase general awareness of cricket at grassroots level and its benefit to society.
3. To expose the girl child to cricket and provide an equal opportunity for her to express herself.
4. To educate children on the important link between cricket and education by providing sports leadership and management seminars.
