Motorists have bemoaned new parking regulations in Harare’s central business district with cars now being billed for every single entry into a parking bay.

Under Harare City Parking, new regulations parking tickets are not transferrable to other bays and motorists now pay for each time they change bays.

A cross section of motorists including those encountered on the way to City Parking traffic section to make enquiries after being clamped told ZBC News it is now inconvenient for them to do business in town.

City Parking marketing manager, Mr Francis Mandaza said the price of parking has not changed adding there was a new censor based system to reduce congestion and enhance revenue collection.

3 000 parking bays have been fitted with censors in the CBD and parking is now monitored through a system which reports on the number of vehicles parked, those that have paid and those unpaid.
