ZBC Top 50 winners honoured
Winners of the 2017 Radio Zimbabwe Coca-Cola Top 50 and ZBC TV Coke Top 50 competitions and fans who correctly predicted the top five songs were today awarded with various prizes ranging from hampers and some electronic gadgets.
Among the winners was Mutare based gospel singer, Blessing Shumba who scooped the first and second positions in the Radio Zimbabwe competition and pocketed $4500 and a hamper for the songs; Changa Chajaira and Tariro Ichiripo.
In the ZBC TV Coke Top 50, Winky D’s Rugare and My Woman took the first and second positions respectively and the Gafa walked away $4500 richer.
The two musicians thanked their fans for the support throughout the year.
16 Radio Zimbabwe fans including 57-year-old Juliana Manyadza of Bindura who correctly predicted the top 5 songs were given various prizes.
Radio Zimbabwe Station Manager, Mr Albert Chekayi and ZBC Acting Head – Television, Paul Gama concurred that ZBC is committed to promote local artistes through radio and television programmes.
Coca-Cola Senior Brand Manager, Vee Chibanda also reiterated their commitment in supporting artists in Zimbabwe through their partnership with the national broadcaster.
Other winners include John Munodawafa for the song ‘Ndidzivirei’ and Sniper Storm for his ‘Tsvigiri Muhuchi’ video.
The awards have been applauded for stirring competition not only within the music industry but also among video producers.
