First of all, the X looks like no other phone. It doesn’t even look like an iPhone. The screen takes up the whole screens front panel. It’s made up of a surgical grade stainless steel and glass on the rear panel. The notched screen might take some getting used to, but the phone’s a stunner. It is not pronounced iPhone X like you probably keep hearing, but it’s the iPhone 10.
- Resolution. Due to their use of Oled tech, for the first time in an iPhone, the phone colours are richer and text is more pleasant to read. It has a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels.
- Side button. From the home button on the front, a bunch of features have been moved to the power button which Apple is currently calling the side button. Long press for Siri, double click for Apple Pay.
- Faster processor It runs Apple’s new processor, the all Bionic, along with 3 gigs of Ram. It has 30% more speed than the existing unit.
- Charger. The battery life has improved and lasts two hours longer than the iPhone 7. You don’t have to plug your X into the wall, you’ll just lay it down on the inductive pad.
- The camera. The camera now shoots in 4k and can also capture slow motion film. The new portrait lighting mode, to give your pictures better adjustable lighting. The back facing camera dual 12-megapixel cameras, just like in iPhone 8 Plus, with f/1.8 and f/2.4 apertures. Dual optical image stabilization mitigates shakes in both cameras.
- Face I.D. To unlock the phone without a home button apple introduced face recognition. Face i.d essentially replaces the finger print. You’ll unlock your phone by holding it up to your face, pay for things and log into apps. It works even in the dark!
- Price. The phone will be available for pre order on October 27, with deliveries beginning on November 3. It will sell in 55 countries around the world and will cost a whopping $999
