General Background:
The bird has long, dark coloured feathers and a bald neck and head. It is a ground nesting bird and spends a much of its time scratching around on the ground for something to eat. They can be found inhabiting jungles, forests, shrublands, grasslands and even the desert.
There are 6 species worldwide and 2 species which occur in Zimbabwe.
