School Name:
The school was named after the Nqameni chief of Gwanda.
Date Established:
The school was opened in July 1992. It was officially opened by one of the chief’s grandsons.
Enrollment And Staffing At Inception As Well As Current:
The school had an enrollment of six hundred students and fourteen teachers. Currently the school has an enrollment of one thousand and ten pupils and has thirty two teachers. Teachers are highly qualified as we have graduate teachers, with Counselling and Education degrees.
Location:
The school is in ward 22 in Nkulumane Township. The Central Business District is about a kilometer from the school.
Curriculum Offered:
The school offers all subjects in the Primary School curriculum that is Mathematics, English language, Ndebele, Religious and Moral Education, Environmental Science, Social Studies, Home Economics, Music, Physical Education, Art and Craft, AIDS Education. Members of staff are from time to time encouraged to scheme from syllabuses over the holidays. The school organizes staff development courses to ensure that sound teaching principles are made use of. The school has a writing policy which sets minimum standards.
Achievements:
The school was awarded with two Merit Awards in 1999 and 2001 for academic excellence in grade 7. In 2004 the school got an award for best choral choir in Music.

The school is clustered with the following “Amavene, Mabhukudwana, Mafela, Mtshane, Queen Elizabeth II, Mgombane, Mgoqo and Mandwandwe secondary.
Sporting:
The school is part of Nkulumane B zone which has the following schools Queen Elizabeth II, Mgandane and Mgoqo.
Composition Of Staff:
The school has both professional and support staff.

• The support staff is composed of the Bursar, Clerk, Caretaker and two groundsmen.
• Bursar – Collection of fees and purchasing of school items.
• Clerk – Enrolls, maintains stock and issues out stationery
• Caretaker and groundsmen take care of the school buildings and grounds just to mention a few duties.

Role Of Council:
As a Responsible Authority the Council administers the school by providing support staff, stationery, textbooks, building materials, and furniture. The Council also supervises the PTA funds and this provides transparency and security of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) funds. The responsible authority also gives academic awards to its schools hence sets up high standards for its school.
Challenges Faced:
The school’s programmes have been affected by the socio-economic problems. However parents are trying their best to chip in where possible.
Projections for The Future:
The school intends to raise the academic standards by organizing more staff development courses. Should funds allow, the school intends to offer computer lessons to all the grades.
