Major boost for green innovation hub

The Swedish government has signed a US$773 000 funding agreement with UNICEF for global climate innovations targeting youths in Zimbabwe.
The government of Sweden has unveiled a five year programme to support innovation that promotes sustainable environment.
Swedish Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Sofia Calltorp says the project which is been funded to the tune of US$773 000 is aimed at empowering youths and transforming innovative ideas into practical solutions.
UNICEF representative Dr Mohamed Ayoya applauded the Swedish government for coming up with funding that mitigates climate change.
He said the project challenges youths to come up with smart energy solutions among other innovations.
The project is expected to address challenges of climate change and unemployment, thus will incorporate Zimbabwean youths.
