Mbembesi Memorial

The Mbembesi Memorial was erected in memory of the decisive battle and the men who fought in it.
The memorial is situated 33 km from Bulawayo on the Bulawayo/Harare main road.
On the 1st November during the Matebele rebellion of 1893, Matebele warriors and European fighters engaged in combat over the Mbembesi area. Lives of both Matebele and Europeans were lost there.
