Queen Vee
Queen Vee who was born Vanessa Sibanda in 1988 is a South African based Zimbabwean model turned musician. The RnB star rose to fame in 2008 when she was crowned Miss Zimbabwe 2008. By the end of her career, she had ventured into music where her name still tops the charts
Early Life
Vanessa was born in Gweru on the 19th of September 1988. She went to Kadoma Primary School in 1997 and Queen Elizabeth Girls High. She always wanted to be a model from a young age and won her first modeling contest when she was in Grade 4.
Education
In 2009, Vanessa began a studying a diploma in Marketing and Public Relations. The Diploma comprised of 10 Modules, which included International Marketing, Public Relations, Sales and Selling and Economics among others.
According to her, the programme equipped her with the right marketing skills and also the ability to deal with the public in both the business and social world.
Career
Queen Vee is following in the footsteps of some of the countries artists based in South Africa such as Buffalo Souljah in raising the Zimbabwean flag high.
After crowning another beautiful girl in 2010, Queen Vee met with multiple award-winner Buffalo Souljah who took an interest in her music. The dancehall star signed her to his United Nations of Africa label and the pair have been releasing work ever since.
She has featured a lot of South African artists in her music, namely L-Tido and AB Crazy. The model-turned-singer caused waves on the airwaves with her chart-topping singles Agenda, “Hey Lover” featuring another Zimbabwean artiste, Buffalo Souljah, “Babe Babe Babe” as well as “Done with Your Lies”.
Personal
The former Miss Zimbabwe married Farai Matsika in December of 2012. Matsika is a renowned businessman and chief executive of Croco Motors with huge interests in the motoring industry. According to a friend, the two got married at an exclusive traditional ceremony attended by close relatives and friends. Vanessa became a mother in 2013 to a baby boy.
