Pioneer Prospector
Alexander Boogie arrived in South Africa in 1883 and worked on the Rand for a while. In 1888 he travelled to Matabeleland with a Mr J Cooper-Chadwick to negotiate for a mining concession from King Lobengula. When they met with the king they were presented with a proposal from C.D Rudd, they abandoned their initial quest and joined the Rudd party and later settled in Bulawayo.
He wrote the book ” Ox-Wagon to Railway”
Boogie died on the 5th of October 1922 in Scotland, United Kingdom
