Govenor-General of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (1957-1963)
Simon Ramsal Dalhouse was born in the United Kingdom in 1914 and received his education at Eton and Oxford University.
He served with the black watch in World War 2, during which time he was taken prisoner. From 1945 to 1950 he was a member of the British Parliament. In 1950 he became Earl (16th Earl of Dalhousie) after succeeding his brothers title.
In 1957, on the death of Lord Llewellin, he was appointed Governor – General of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland , left Rhodesia on the 7th may 1963.
Dalhouse died on 15 July 1999 in the United Kingdom.
