Susan Chenjerai
Susan Chenjerai is a Zimbabwean actress.
Chenjerai says she was born sometime in the 1940’s her date of birth was not recorded by her family.
Susan Chenjerai is a Zimbabwean actress, she found popularity through her role as Amai Rwizi in the popular 1970s and 80s drama the Mukadota family. In the drama series the role of Amai Rwizi is that of a good wife who loves her husband & entirely and who is submissive to his every need.
Her career started when in 1964 she met with Safirio Madzikatire (Mukadota) a multi talented and famous Zimbabwean comedian who starred as the main actor in the drama series in the role of Baba Rwizi. Other famous names that had acting roles in the series include Safison Elijah Madzikatire, Elizabeth Taderera (Katarina) and John Muyambo (Chibhodhoro). She performed on stage with Madzikatires in the varies bands he was linked with.
The inception of the Mukadota drama series in the 1970s brought her fame. She retired from acting in 1984 and is lately involved with preaching the word of God with her husband. She is a mother and grandmother and she has been honoured by various organisations for her contribution to the Zimbabwe arts industry.
